Delicious Healthy Banana Bread

If you’re craving cake and something sweet, we got you covered! This healthy banana bread uses all healthy wholesome ingredients and is naturally sweetened with honey or maple syrup.  It’s delicious, comforting and satisfying, loved by adults and kids alike.  You can even have it pre workout for a carb load and boost of energy.

You can make it vegan by using maple syrup instead of honey, replacing eggs with flax eggs and using a nut milk of your choice.

  1. Preheat oven to 160c if using fan assisted, 170c if not. Grease and flour a 9-10in loaf tin.
  2. In a large bowl (or mixer), mix together the oil and honey until well combined, then add the eggs, mashed banana and milk. Next add the baking powder, vanilla essence, salt and cinnamon and stir until well combined.
  3. Lastly, sift in the flour and mix well with a spoon. If you are adding nuts and raisins, stir them in now. Pour into the prepared loaf tin and dust with extra cinnamon (optional).
  4. Bake for 1 hour, check 10 minutes before to see if done using a toothpick (it should come out clean when inserted into the middle).
  5. Once done, remove from the oven and leave to cool for 10 minutes before removing from the loaf tin and onto a wire rack. Leave to cool completely before serving.
